Half Baked

Dear Spencer,

The original plan was to start writing letters to you the day you enter this world. But alas, your mother has never been good with patience - so here she is 22 weeks and 3 days pregnant writing your first letter.

You've officially grown to the size of a papaya, a fruit that I nor your father have ever tried, but according to our weekly newsletter, that makes you approximately 11 inches tall and a little under a pound - so unbelievable. Just a few weeks ago you were being compared to lemons and limes and you weighed less than a quarter can of coke. You are developing beautifully and we couldn't feel more blessed.

Although it's somewhat scary to think that you will be here with us in only 18 weeks, each day we wake up with a smile that's just a little bigger and a little brighter. This is because we know that we are one day closer to meeting our sweet baby boy.

We often wonder if we are prepared for this journey. Will we be good parents? Will we have enough money to provide for you? Will we know how to raise you properly?

The truth is, we're not sure.

We can only promise to raise you to the best of our abilities with an open heart and an open mind. We promise to listen to your concerns and to value your opinion. We promise to work hard at our relationship in order to provide you with a loving home. While we may not be able to buy you everything you ever want, we promise to remain wealthy in the one thing that you will need the most - our unconditional love.

Keep growing little one and we'll see you soon.

All our Love,
Mom and Dad
